On Wednesday 25 February, Years 7-12 headed off to Angelo Anestis Aquatic Centre for our Swimming Carnival. It was a very hot day, so there was a lot of incentive to participate in races and cool off in the pool.
It was great to see such strong participation in many events, particularly in the ‘Novelty’ race. This was a new event held this year, where participants were able to complete a lap of the pool in a style of their choice, each receiving a point for their house. The relays were also one of the highlights from the day – we had our House Relays, Year Group Relays and, of course, the very competitive Year 12 versus Teachers Race.
There was a great sense of camaraderie, with lots of cheering for friends from the stands, not to mention the enthusiasm and spirit put into chants during the House Relays.
Excitingly, the Green Stingrays were announced the overall winners of the Carnival.
All competitors were very grateful for the organisation and planning that went into the day. This was a great start to our sports carnivals for 2026, and I think it is safe to say that everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day. We’re looking forward to the Cross Country early next term.
