On Tuesday 24 February, we welcomed Ms Ash Ambihaipahar MP, Local Member for Barton, to a special Junior School Assembly to induct our Year 5 Leaders for 2026.
Mr Honor, Principal, reminded the students that the bedrock of leadership is a heart to serve and help others. Sharing stories of his grandson helping enthusiastically in the vegetable garden, and the incredible testimony of thirteen-year-old Austin Applebee who swam for four hours to rescue his family who were lost at sea, Mr Honor encouraged Junior School to see the value of following the example set by Jesus in leading by serving others. He reminded the students that whenever they feel out of their depth, they can trust in God and rely on their parents and teachers to guide them.
It was a joyful moment when parents gathered on the stage with their children to pin on the students’ new leadership badges, and as our School Captains prayed for the younger leaders and the wider cohort. Congratulations to our Year 5 Leaders for 2026: Scarlett-Grace B, Alana C, Charlotte H, Chloe M, Joel J, Lachlan S, Xavier U and Ethan W.
A heartfelt thanks to Ms Ambihaipahar MP, who presented Merit Awards to our students, and gifted the School with new flags. Thank you to the parents who attended the assembly and afternoon tea, supporting your children and celebrating this event with us.
