Our first Chapel Gallery exhibition for 2026, presented by Year 10 Visual Arts students, showcases what some may describe as one of the more misunderstood art styles – Abstract Art. The exhibition welcomes viewers to engage and interact with the genre and experience colour, rhythm, and motion in a variety of forms.
Students across the School have visited the exhibition, immersing themselves in the bodies of work which include eye-catching shoe moulds repurposed as colourful sculptures, experimental photography inspired by Mark Rothko’s colour field paintings, and Jackson Pollock-inspired action painting. Descriptions and question prompts invite students to think and ponder the meaning of the artworks and the techniques used to create them. A sensory table allows students to touch or pick up pieces, enhancing their appreciation of the art form and inspiring their own artistic expression.
