Year 13 and Beyond

A group of our Year 12 2023 alumni have made the decision to attend the Year 13 Gap Year Program with Youthworks. Year 13 helps young people to grow in their love and knowledge of God and build meaningful friendships with one another, creating community and unity, whilst being equipped with practical ministry, leadership and life skills.

The courses and seminars offered ensure that young people grow spiritually and are better prepared for life after Year 13. Training offered includes evangelism, ministry skills, financial planning, careers exploration, understanding different cultures, along with opportunities to learn how to serve on Christian camps, how to lead and/or work in a team, how to deliver a talk and/or Bible study, and to serve alongside Anglicare in care of the marginalised.

Year 13 inspires and challenges students to be a Christian above all else so that as they go on to university, to work, or whatever the future may hold, they will remain resilient for the long haul. It provides valuable insight into what it looks like to live a meaningful life of purpose. Year 13 is a carefully and deliberately structured one-year program designed to mature young people’s faith, connect them with trusted mentors and other like-minded people, building on foundations that will set them up for the rest of life.

We trust that Year 13 will be a joyful and fruitful year for our former students, creating a solid foundation on which to build their futures.

Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.” (Matthew 7:24-25) ESV
