Doctor in the House

We are delighted to announce SGCS Teacher, Kate Hartup has been awarded a Doctor of Philosophy, in the School of Education at the University of Notre Dame, Australia.

Dr Hartup’s Ph.D research focused on understanding the numeracy capabilities of teacher education students’ (TES) and how to develop mechanisms for assessing, tracking, and developing their numeracy skills to equip them for teaching. 

Her thesis titled Assess, Address, Progress: An Online Approach To Evaluate And Develop Teacher Education Students’ Numeracy Capability was the result of 7 years of research and study. To read the abstract, click here

A Research Training Program (RTP) government scholarship provided assistance for Dr Hartup to continue research whilst juggling work and three children in the midst of a global pandemic.
