Accuracy Over Assumption

4W made the most of Wednesday’s beautiful blue skies to take their mathematics learning outdoors. The students are completing a unit on length and have been working on perimeter challenges which included measuring regular and irregular shapes and calculating perimeters. The great weather provided an opportunity to gain some practical experience in measuring the handball courts.

Mr Watts, Junior School Teacher, ‘stressed the importance of accuracy over assumptions’ before the students set to work using rulers, tape measures and trundle wheels to measure the handball courts.
