Father’s Day at Infants
The excitement was palpable at our Infants Campus when our youngest students welcomed their fathers to school in the lead up to Father’s Day.
The children escorted their dads and special guests around to view the playground games and stopped to munch on some freshly baked mini rolls and cinnamon donuts. For those feeling adventurous, there were balloon, scooter board and egg and spoon races on offer. Plus there were scavenger hunts which saw kids and dads hunting all over the playground for clues, along with a host of other activities such as a giant construction, bean bag toss and bowling.
Our Principal, Mr Honor, spoke to the students and their dads about our Father in heaven who guides and protects His children. Everyone was delighted by Mr Honor’s son and grandson who were present and featured in his story.
Each class then presented a heartfelt song or poem and students gave their dads a special handmade gift.
Father’s Day at Junior School
Excitement was in the air when students and their fathers gathered in the Junior School Playground to celebrate Father’s Day together.
Our visiting fathers and special guests were welcomed and blessed with a prayer and a poem before being treated to an assortment of activities. Skipping and handball games offered dads an opportunity to prove that they were equally as adept at these activities as their children. Dads and students teamed up to take on the Stem Challenge of building a bridge with just paper and tape. The ingenuity displayed was very impressive. The fun continued as fathers and students played board games together, inciting the competitive streak once again, and even more so when they played Kahoot where the theme was Father’s Day. Did you know that the official flower for Father’s Day is a carnation?
The morning concluded with students presenting their dads with a special Father’s Day card and gift.
