This week, Year 10 Visual Arts students loved getting messy today as they experimented with Jackson Pollock’s artmaking techniques!
During Term 3, the students have been studying Abstract Art and have been looking at various artmaking styles such as Kandinsky’s response to music through the use of colour, and Giacomo Balla’s ability to capture movement in his oil paintings.
Students also learnt about Jackson Pollock and Abstract Expressionism and had the opportunity to put their learning into practice by dripping, pouring and flicking paint on a large canvas and selecting limited colours to replicate various works by Jackson Pollock including Convergence, Number 1A, Number 11, Number 27 and Unformed Figure.
It was an inspirational day of artmaking.
