School Community

St George Christian School encourages our parents to be involved in the education of their children. SGCS promotes fellowship between parents and initiates activities and programs which promote positive relationships and community building across our School.

Fundraising is also active and greatly appreciated by the School. Over the years, parents and friends have contributed financially in a number of areas, including to our building and library funds and to smaller projects which include gift books for our graduating Year 12 students, devotional books for our Year 6 students to encourage them as they enter their teen years and book prizes for the Infants' Book Week parade.

Our SGCS community not only raises funds that will benefit each of the School's departments, they also look to assist people in need in the wider community.

Parents are also encouraged to provide practical support for academic, sporting and cultural activities. We also support involvement in the School community through prayer groups, Bible study groups, Café12 duty and our Open Days.

Our Strong Hearts Strong Minds Workshop and Seminar Series is designed to address the range of issues that parents and extended family may face in raising children. These interactive information workshops and seminars provide sound advice and specific strategies to improve the well being of both the child and the family unit. They are open to parents and friends of the SGCS community.

Contact our Community Engagement Officer if you would like to discuss opportunities to become more involved in our School community. We welcome your ideas and feedback.
