Honey bees are essential for the pollination of flowers, fruits and vegetables. The biggest cause for the global decline of honey bee populations is attributed to man.
It is therefore crucial that the general public are informed about the importance of honey bees and how we can help them survive.
World Bee Day on Friday 20 May celebrated these hard-working little pollinators. Our Library used Friday Fun Day to promote the cause, with displays, activities, and fact sheets. On yet another wet day, the bee-related activities were a great source of delight for our Junior School students.
