Timber Creative Takes Shape

Congratulations to Tom Norman, Year 12 Class of 2019, for the selection of his Industrial Technology – Timber Major Project to the prestigious SHAPE 2019 Exhibition. Tom’s Major Project work also secured him a nomination to InTech, a NESA Exhibition of major works from HSC Industrial Technology students.

Tom created an impressive contemporary American-style display cabinet using different types of joints, shelves, drawers and finishes. The drawers featured fractal burning, a process involving painting the wood with water and running 2000 volts through it.

SHAPE 2019 is an annual NESA exhibition featuring a selection of exemplary Major Projects developed by HSC Design and Technology, Industrial Technology and Textiles and Design students.

You can see Tom’s work at the SHAPE 2019 Exhibition at the Powerhouse Museum from 29 February to 3 May 2020.
