On Monday, 9 November, our students and staff gave thanks for the completion and opening of the first stage of the largest construction project ever to be undertaken in our School’s history. Mr Paddy Benn, SGCS Board Chair, dedicated the new building in prayer before a cohort of Year 7 students.
At the same time as the official Thanksgiving Service, smaller services were held during every roll call class, across our School, to give thanks to God for his generous provision of our new campus building. Students were led in prayer and watched a timelapse video of the construction of the new building. To view the timelapse video, click here.
The Hurstville Campus Development Project is the largest construction project ever to be undertaken in our School’s history. Over time the new campus building will welcome hundreds of students and their families and become the new workplace for many of our staff teams. With new Science, Drama and Visual Arts facilities, spacious light filled classrooms and breakout learning spaces, numerous wide terraces, a full-sized basketball/netball court and underground parking for staff, this building will generously serve current and future generations.
