Summer Robotics

Late last year after SGCS had closed for the Summer vacation, a dedicated group of students continued working together for the virtual RoboCup Junior NSW competition and the Wonder League Robotics Competition. Overall, SGCS entered 6 teams in the two competitions. Their results were exceptional, with all of the teams have been invited to the finals. Congratulations to our students and SGCS Robotics Coordinator, Mrs Karen Binns.

Of special note is Eveleigh Cassel, who at the time was in Year 4. Eveleigh won her division (Stages 1 and 2) with her personal “helper” robot. The Year 5 Robotics Team also deserve a special congratulations. The Team won their division (Stages 3 and 4) by designing a digital scarecrow named “Rob”. Students in this Team include: Andre Laurent, Victoria Pandis, Justin Skaros, Jared Jared Tang, Ethan Toskas and Remy von Bonin.
