Squads of robots overran our Hurstville Campus last Saturday as part of the RoboCup Junior Sydney Regional Challenge. The Regional Challenge Day, open to all primary and secondary schools, saw more than sixty students across six schools attend our Campus.
This Regional Challenge provided the opportunity for students, of varying skill levels, to undertake a series of challenges and test their robots against other RoboCup teams. Students also had the opportunity to be mentored by experienced judges and instructors throughout the afternoon.
Along with hosting the Regional Challenge, Mr Wilson Cheng, SGCS ICT Coordinator and Mrs Karen Binns, SGCS ICT Teacher and Integrator, led students through several workshops in preparation for the upcoming NSW State RoboCup Junior Open Competition in August 2019.
We would like to extend our thanks to all the parents and senior robotics students who attended the day and provided invaluable support.
