NAIDOC 2022 School Art Prize

Congratulations to Serena Maskito (Year 10) for winning 1st Prize in the NAIDOC School Art Competition in the Years 10-12 category. 

Serena painted a portrait of

Emily Kame Kngwarreye in response to the NAIDOC Week 2022 Theme – Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up! Emily Kame Kngwarreye [b. c.1910, d. 1996] is one of Australia’s most significant contemporary artists. 

Mrs Soo Jin, SGCS Visual Arts Teacher, encouraged Serena to submit the portrait for the competition which was organised and sponsored by Place Management NSW, Sydney Learning Adventures and The Rocks Discovery Museum.

Works will be on display at The Rocks Discovery Museum from 27June – 20 July.
