Year 6 students have been developing their ability to apply the design thinking process and fair testing this term in Science, using Mars as the topic.
This has included creating rockets, rovers and robotic arm prototypes. In ICT they have built on their coding skills and used Minecraft to create buildings and discover materials that would be useful when developing a colony on the Red Planet.
This week, our students’ skills were put to the test when they participated in Mars Day. This event included creating colony blueprints, coding robotic rovers and using augmented reality. Students were presented with problems that they had to overcome through determination and strong teamwork.
It was a very engaging and fun way to develop their design and technology skills.
