Healthy Choices

Our Year 7 students are learning about positive eating behaviours to help them establish healthy eating habits for life. During Term 2, the students have investigated healthy food options for regular meals and snacks. They have also looked at regulating food intake and preventing food waste.

By learning to include healthy ingredients in food, they have discovered that they don’t have to give up some of their favourite meals.

In the kitchen, they have made healthy quiches, burgers and omelettes. Recently, they discovered that chocolate brownies can still be on the menu, simply by reducing certain ingredients and the portion size, and adding healthy items like chia seeds and dates to the mix.
