Groundbreaking Moment

On Tuesday 17 March 2020, we marked the commencement of the Hurstville Campus Development Project (B1) with a Groundbreaking Ceremony.

The official groundbreaking was undertaken by Mr Honor, Principal, Mr Newman, Chairman of SGCS Finance and Audit Committee, our School Captains, Beth jacobs and Daniel Tait, and our youngest students enroleed at SGCS, Elle. K. and Asiimwe B.

Mr Honor, addressed the small party saying:

“In these uncertain times it is important to continue to mark milestones and acknowledge the efforts of all those who worked towards getting this project off the ground. The inclusion of our youngest students in the ceremony signifies the hope that we have for the future. A hope that is based firmly in the Lord.”

Mr Honor concluded with the words of Psalm 127:1:

Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.

The Groundbreaking Ceremony was followed by a morning tea in the Chapel, which included a cake cutting to celebrate the occasion.

The Chapel, being our oldest building at the Hurstville Campus, was selected as the location for the morning tea, to honour the past whilst also celebrating the future.

Guests also had the opportunity to see the newly completed fly-through video of the Hurstville Campus Development Project.
