Glass Works

Year 6 students are continuing their introduction to Visual Arts by exploring a range of artists, mediums, and movements. Recently, the students explored the works of American artist, Dale Chihuly (b.1941) whose dynamic glass works led to a resurgence in the medium.

Using plastic sheets, paint and heat, our students responded to Chihuly’s works by creating their own colourful botanical art piece.

Mrs Rene Merritt, SGCS Visual Arts Teacher, intends to hang the works in the classroom, stressing the importance of surrounding students with art to help them develop their creativity.
