Game, Set, Match

The CSSA Primary Tennis Gala Day is a much-loved event by our sports staff and sporting students.  During October, four students from Years 3-6 travelled to Wollongong Tennis Centre (Beaton Park) for the CSSA State Tennis Gala Day. The participating students were:

Year 3             Hugo K.

Year 4              Adrien C. and Joseph Z.

Year 6              Jonah S.

Mr Archer, Head of Sports K-6, reported that:

Each student was competitive in their matches and thoroughly enjoyed the day.  The sportsmanship displayed was outstanding and the boys were great ambassadors for SGCS. Some of the boys progressed out of the group round robin to play in the quarter finals. Our students received the Champion School Award for winning the most points in the group round robin stage. This is a first for St George Christian School. It is a credit to our students for their consistent effort throughout the day.

It was a very exciting day of tennis as Joseph made the Year 3-4 Junior Boys Final winning the final 6-1. Joseph’s win is well deserved as he is a talented young tennis player who is dedicated to his sport.
