Jake Rutkowski (Year 4) has had a meteoric ascension to the world stage of Go Kart racing. In his first year of Go Kart racing he won the Club Championship for 2017.
In his second year of racing he set his sights on winning the Rotax Pro Tour, which is a nationally recognised Karting series that offers the highest level of competition in Australia to owners of a Rotax 125 MAX Engine.
Jake competed in the NSW Cadet 9 which consisted of three weekend round races at Coffs Harbour, Dubbo and Lithgow. He won every heat, pre-final and final of each round. On the weekend of September 14-16, Jake was crowned State Champion.
During 2018, Jake has also competed in the National Pro Tour MicroMax Championships which saw him race in interstate several times. Jake won the championship and will now represent his age group for Australia in Brazil this November. The world titles will bring 360 drivers from around the world to Brazil who have won in their division. Jake will be racing thirty-eight Micro Max drivers ageing between 9 and 12 for the world title.
Asked about his year of racing, Jake replied:
Winning the Pro Tour Championship and representing Australia has been my dream all year. It has not been easy, I have had to stay focused, always concentrate and keep positive, even when things get hard. I have loved spending time with my Dad and family and meeting and making great friends all around Australia because of go karting. I am very proud to represent my country Australia and really looking forward to racing the world’s best.
Congratulations Jake on your impressive efforts and results in Go Karting. We wish you the very best for the Championships in Brazil.
