Our local area is rich in cultural diversity. During 2019, students in the Middle School Anthropologists’ Excellence Group learnt about the beliefs and customs of different cultures.
They explored how some beliefs and customs were established and maintained, and others discarded.
As part of their studies, they looked at God’s original blueprint for humanity. Within this framework, students were encouraged to consider their own culture and whether practices are deemed normal and acceptable only due to familiarity.
Students culminated their learning by visiting a Korean barbecue restaurant in Hurstville where they enjoyed some traditional Korean dishes, including meat cooked on the barbecue. Following lunch, students visited the supermarket for Green Tea ice cream. What a wonderful experience to conclude a year of learning.
