Miss Jill Dudley, Year 8 Home Room Teacher/Senior School PDHPE Teacher, is known for her initiative, energy, and vivacity. She is committed to encouraging both students and adults to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle.
Recently Miss Dudley was successfully nominated for the inaugural Awards for The Australian Council for Health, Physical Education and Recreation (ACHPER).
Miss Dudley was awarded a High Commendation in the Early Career Teacher category for her outstanding work.
The Australian Council for Health, Physical Education and Recreation (ACHPER) is a national professional association representing people who work in the areas of Health Education, Physical Education, Recreation, Sport, Dance, Community Fitness or Movement Sciences.
The ACHPER NSW [PD]HPE Awards recognise outstanding teachers making a difference to healthy and active lifestyles.
Mr Reece Condon, SGCS Sports Coordinator, in his nomination of Miss Dudley said:
Miss Dudley has made an incredibly significant contribution to promote active and healthy lifestyles in the students at St George Christian School though her innovative and engaging teaching pedagogy, such as the Bootcamp program which she helped develop. Bootcamp’s participation rate has grown from a few students to more than 50 in the space of a year.
Even in the current NSW COVID lock down, Miss Dudley managed to demonstrate excellence through innovative and engaging practices such as creating online Bootcamps and PDHPE resources for both students and parents.
Her commitment to helping others achieve a balanced lifestyle extends beyond the classroom as she regularly gives up her own time for others.
Congratulations Miss Dudley. We will leave it to Mrs Donsworth, Head of Middle School to express our thanks:
Thank you for leading students in this increasingly important dimension of their lives. Your initiative, energy, spark and sustained commitment, that doesn’t wane in the face of challenges, is indeed extraordinary.
