Year 12 Physics students recently returned to the classroom to complete a depth study as part of a unit on electromagnetism. The students were required to design and construct a DC Motor that uses and illustrates the principles of electromagnetism. They also conducted investigations to test a range of variables that affect motor function.
Mrs Michelle Blight, SGCS Science Teacher said:
“The depth study teaches students to evaluate both qualitative and quantitative research and experiments and collect valid and reliable primary and secondary data and information. It involves a lot of risk analysis and problem-solving.
It was lovely to see the students physically in the classroom again. I think they welcomed the opportunity to see their peers’ models and each other of course.”
