CSI: Junior School

Junior School students turned super sleuths for a day in an immersive”, forensic science workshop presented by Education Interactive.

The workshop based on a real- life crime, saw students examine a range of evidence to determine what happened to the purported victim and who stole the treasure?

The evidence included: fingerprinting and blood typing; facial reconstruction through computer and real models; hair and fibre analysis; fluorescence of oils and DNA comparisons; latent image detection, chromatography, and shoe impression casting.

It was an exciting, intriguing experience for our students and their teachers which demonstrated that a clear chain of evidence is required from a crime scene for prosecution to occur.
