Throughout 2020, students in the Middle School Anthropologists’ Excellence Group learnt about the beliefs and customs of different cultures, and why people from those cultures do some of the things they do. They were also encouraged to think about their own culture and what they see as normal and acceptable because they have become accustomed to it.
In celebration of the end of the year, students were treated to a lunchtime meal of Korean takeaway from Chi Koko in Hurstville. Each student received a Bulgogi lunch box, Korean red chicken, Bibimbap, a mango moochi and a scoop of green tea ice cream.
Mrs Melissa Honor, Anthropologists’ Excellence Group Coordinator said:
“Experiencing food from another culture was a memorable way not only to reinforce learning but also to celebrate our time together.”
