Celebrating Character

It was another beautiful blue-skied day for our annual Infants Book Parade. Every year the standard is so high, we think the following year could not possibly be better and yet it is.

The 2019 Infants Book Parade was notable for the attention to detail in each book character costume and for the wide-range of book characters.

There were butterflies, cats, caterpillars, dinosaurs, dogs, elephants, fish, giraffes, koalas, lions, pigeons, pugs, puppies, reindeers, sloths and unicorns.

Ninja nanas, firemen, princesses, little red riding hood, pirates, ballerinas, scuba divers, gingerbread men and even Ned Kelly also made an appearance. A bad seed, a purple grape, a blue robot, an underwater sea monster and ‘a fing’ were notable for their size and creativity.

The characters created by Dr Seuss, Roald Dahl, Andy Griffiths and Disney also proved popular.

Our Heads of School, Mrs Carolyn Lee, Mrs Nicole Finch and our SGCS Librarian Mrs Barbara Orrock, had a very difficult time choosing the winners for each class.

What a wonderful celebration of reading and books. Congratulations to all our Infant students and their parents.
