Career Decisions Made With Confidence

On the last week of Term 1, Year 10 students had the opportunity to take part in our Work Experience Program.

Students worked hard to gain placements in the area of interest including construction, architecture, game design, finance, automotive, hospitality, law, real estate, education, Veterinarian and retail.

A School-Based Program was run for students who were unable to find placements. This Program included a series of workshops and activities including food service training, coping with stress, first aid, career lessons on how to find a job, write a resume and cover letter, and interview skills. Students also participated in gardening and community service projects.

Students enjoyed their time learning new skills, meeting new people and considering if they should pursue their area of interest for study or work post-Year 12. A few students were offered part time work after completing their work experience.

A follow-up survey and student evaluation to employers returned some impressive results with students ranking high in areas of punctuality, communication and adapting to working life.

Well Done Year 10.
