Year 6 students have been studying the topic of advertising this term. As part of their studies they investigated the evolution of an individual brand’s advertising. This included studying and explaining the visual features of advertisements over time and the way in which advertisers use the art of rhetoric to persuade the viewer.

The students each selected a different brand to research, these included brands like Coca-Cola, Lindt, Mercedes Benz, Nike, Qantas, Sony and Westpac.

The students created large posters to present their research and gave a short speech, demonstrating their findings. It was an insightful glimpse into the way companies use advertising to develop a unique identity.
