Loving Vincent

Our newly minted Year 12 Visual Arts students took a break from the art studio to attend a private screening of Loving Vincent.

The animated film brings the paintings of artist Vincent Van Gogh to life, to retell his life story. The film is an exceptional work as every one of the 65 000 frames of the film is an oil-painting, hand-painted by more than one hundred professional oil painters in the style of Van Gogh.

Mrs Louisa Cunningham, SGCS Art Teacher said:

The film was simply stunning and gave deep insight into the life of Van Gogh. It was incredibly moving and there was not a dry eye in the house. We were fortunate to be treated to a private screening, which allowed our little group to really be open with their response to the film. It was a lovely way to finish the year.

Loving Vincent is on show at selected cinemas across Sydney.
