Dreaming Big

Gemma Wilson, Year 4, is the face of Vision Australia. Last year, Gemma enjoyed the unique experience of participating in a 2-day film and photo shoot as part of the organisation’s promotional campaign. She travelled with her family to Melbourne for Vision Australia’s Carols by Candlelight at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in December 2022.

Recently Gemma was invited to the annual Women of Achievement Lunch in acknowledgment of her role in raising awareness of Vision Australia as a leading national provider of blindness and low vision services for Australians.

The Women of Achievement Lunch is coordinated by the Black & White Committee, a group of dedicated volunteers who have been organising events to support the blindness and low vision community for 87 years. They currently host several annual events to raise funds for Vision Australia’s Children’s Services, supporting more than 1,800 children and their families each year.

One of the highlights for Gemma was attending the event at the Four Seasons Hotel, meeting some incredible women, including Kim McKay AO and Gale Edwards AM, and the chocolate cake of course.
